Hebt u weleens gedacht dat uw uitspraak van het Engels beter kon? Spits dan de oren als Duncan Bannatyne aan het woord komt. Deze Schotse zakenman maakt deel uit van het panel in het televisieprogramma Dragons' Den op BBC 2.
De volgende aflevering van Dragons' Den gaat helemaal over Bannatyne. Hopelijk begrijpt u wat hij zegt, want in zijn autobiografie Anyone can do it bekent Bannatyne het volgende:
"There was something else I wanted to do before I started filming: I wanted to get a bit of voice coaching, as I know my accent sometimes makes me hard to understand, especially as I speak so quickly. I asked my tutor from RADA, Greg de Polnay, if he would help me out. He identified that, like a lot of Scottish men, my problem is that I tend to drop consonants, so he coached me with some tongue twisters and gave me a few techniques to even up my speech. Although it helped, the crew still tell me they have problems with my accent in the editing suite."
